This was really hard for me. I had over 4500 photos uploaded at Flickr to consider and that's just from the past four years. It was actually kind of fun looking through old photos and remember the stories behind them. Here are my five favorites in no particular order.
This photo was taken this year and was included as one of my Project 365 photos.
a. What were you thinking when you took the photo?
I was thinking that even weeds can be pretty.
b. What were you trying to accomplish?
I wanted to get as close as possible and make it feel like you were part of the dandelion.
c. Did you do any post processing on the photo..if so what was it?
Nope, no post processing.
d. What would you have done differently if you had a do over?
Nothing.
e. Why is this your favorite photo?
I love macro shots. I also like looking at common things that people look at from a different point of view.
This is one of my favorite photos of both Beacon (top) and Haven (bottom) together. Photo taken April 20, 2007. The dogs would have been almost four.
a. What were you thinking when you took the photo?
I hoped that the dogs would stay that way long enough for me to get a good photo!
b. What were you trying to accomplish?
The dogs went into the shed and were peeking out the door. I wanted to
capture them in the moment, especially since they were "stacked"
c. Did you do any post processing on the photo..if so what was it?
Nope, no post processing.
d. What would you have done differently if you had a do over?
It would have been nice if Beacon's entire face was shown.
e. Why is this your favorite photo?
I love taking photos of the dogs. They're the subject of quite a few photos but in this one they both look good.
One of our favorite foster dogs, Amber. We still keep in touch with her. Photo taken March 5, 2007.
a. What were you thinking when you took the photo?
Great lighting!
b. What were you trying to accomplish?
The light was really good when I was taking photos of Amber. I wanted to capture this light and Amber's pensive look.
c. Did you do any post processing on the photo..if so what was it?
No post processing.
d. What would you have done differently if you had a do over?
Had Amber looking at the camera.
e. Why is this your favorite photo?
Amber was one of our favorite foster dogs and this is one of my favorite foster dog photos taken (we fostered over 50 dogs!).
We went to Lake Michigan to check out the ice. Photo taken on Feb. 1, 2009.
a. What were you thinking when you took the photo?
I thought it was a funny scene seeing someone sitting looking out at the ice during the winter.
b. What were you trying to accomplish?
I like capturing moments in time, taking photos when people don't realize their being photographed (without being stalkerish of course).
c. Did you do any post processing on the photo..if so what was it?
No post processing.
d. What would you have done differently if you had a do over?
I don't think there's anything I would have done differently on this one.
e. Why is this your favorite photo?
This is a captured moment where the photo tells a story, it's funny, and something you don't usually see.
This is my all time favorite photo of Haven that I've ever taken. That's saying a lot because she's the one that seems to pose for the camera so I have more photos of her. Photo taken Oct. 1, 2006.
a. What were you thinking when you took the photo?
I was chuckling that Haven was looking under the fence trying to see what was going on.
b. What were you trying to accomplish?
I wanted to capture Haven's sort of sad looking face.
c. Did you do any post processing on the photo..if so what was it?
Nope, no post processing. Seeing a theme?!
d. What would you have done differently if you had a do over?
Maybe zoomed in a little bit but that's it.
e. Why is this your favorite photo?
This really captures the essence of Haven.
